Karavan
A Turn-Based Convoy Roguelike
Lead a small convoy of survivors across a dying wasteland. Build your crew, strap armor onto junker vehicles, manage scarce fuel and food, and outsmart raiders in compact, turn-based encounters. Runs are short, choices are sharp, and every mile asks: scavenge, fight… or starve?
What’s in the box
-
Turn-based, bite-sized runs — push your convoy day by day toward a looming boss encounter.
-
Auto-battles with planning — your builds and positioning matter; watch the round resolve, learn, iterate.
-
Convoy management — up to three vehicles, each with limited seats; drag-and-drop survivors to tweak roles.
-
Survivor roles & stats — tanks that draw fire, nimble dodgers, heavy hitters with different damage dice.
-
Light resource strategy — fuel keeps you moving, food keeps you alive; loot medkits, plates, and supplies.
-
Procedural map events — nodes can reveal resource finds (fuel/food), vehicle discoveries, survivor encounters, and combat.
-
Wasteland radar — a sweeping scanner that points to the boss’s location; track its bearing as you move. Beat the boss to complete the run.
-
Field healing — spend medkits during combat to keep key survivors alive (consumes one medkit).
How to play (quick)
-
Pick a starter survivor and set off with a tiny convoy.
-
Each day, move on the map and trigger one of four event types: resource find (fuel/food), vehicle discovery, survivor encounter, or combat.
-
Use the radar to orient your route toward the boss; you’ll need to find and defeat it to win the run.
-
In combat, rounds auto-resolve; you can play/pause to get your bearings, and use medkits mid-fight to heal wounded survivors.
-
Manage fuel & food carefully; reach the boss and try to survive the showdown.
Controls
-
Mouse: navigate UI, drag & drop survivors between vehicles/slots.
-
Combat: Play/Pause the auto-resolution.
-
Medkits: heal a selected survivor during combat via the UI (consumes one medkit).
-
Windowed/fullscreen via standard OS shortcuts.
A note from the developer
This is my first game, made solo in the small hours left by family and work.
It’s intentionally simple, and you will probably spot rough edges and design mistakes.
If you enjoy the core idea, I’d love your feedback in the comments — it will help me steer the next updates.
Thanks for your patience and for giving Karavan a try!
Roadmap (early thoughts)
-
More survivor archetypes & boss variants

The RNG is a cruel mistress. A bunch of fun, though!
I keep getting all cars and no people and vice versa. Also, how do I use the V8 engine? (edit: OK, it's an extra movement. That wasn't clear.)
Also, the stats on the car (defense? and seats) don't show, so I'm just guessing.
I woudl like to remember what I've seen on the map, or put a dot on the map myself. But that's a bit complex. A lot of fun
There's and error in the game where if you have 3 cars and you try to move someone from reserves to the car that's already full, it duplicates the top car onto the bottom car. And then 2 turns later it turns out the bottom car was emptied. : (
But I did finally win on my 5th/ 6th try.
Hey @Boopy2 — thank you so much for playing and for the thoughtful write-up. It really means a lot ! 🙏
This is my first game and my first time using Godot. I built the prototype in about two months around work and family, which meant plenty of shortcuts—sorry for the rough edges and the cryptic bits. Balancing a roguelike is tricky and I’m still learning…
V8 Engine: you got it — it adds +1 extra movement on the world map for the day. I’ll make that clearer with a tooltip/UI hint. Car stats: You’re right there are only two right now: Seats and Armor. Armor is the % chance the vehicle protects its occupant from an incoming hit, and you can boost it with Armor Plates. I’ll try to fix the car panel so these are shown more clearly.
About the bug: Thanks for the precise report ! I will prioritize a fix.
And huge congrats on the win ! 🎉 Thanks again for your patience and for taking the time to share such helpful feedback !
